About Yadkinville

Yadkinville 1948

The Town of Yadkinville is located at the intersection of Highway 421 and Highway 601 in Yadkin County and was formed in 1850 from land that was once part of Surry County. The County is named for the Yadkin River, which forms the northern and eastern boundaries of the county. On January 28, 1851,  a 50-acre tract located at the center of the County was selected as the site of the new county seat, which would become the Town of Yadkinville; the gateway to the Yadkin Valley.

Yadkinville and Yadkin County were originally farming communities with flue-cured tobacco as the major cash crop. Today, our temperate climate and rolling hills are the perfect formula for wine grapes as well, and Yadkin County is home to around 13 wineries. Unifi, Inc. is Yadkinville's largest employer and is a global leader in sustainable, recycled textiles production.

Music and the arts are also an important part of the community today. There are many concert events during the spring and summer season in our beautiful Community Park and on Main Street. There's always beautiful artwork on display at the Yadkin Cultural Arts Center and a wonderful show to see in their Willingham Theater. It's in these gathering spaces that the closeness of the community truly shines.

Come see why Yadkinville is such a wonderful place to be!
